In my nearly 45 years of martial art study and research I had the chance to visit many countries and experience numerous systems and styles of combat in the original intended form. After much travel, and much consideration, I would rate Bali based Bakti Negara, as one of the best all-around martial arts methodes and scholls. It is trully an all-round system with highly developed fitness regiment, great self-defence curriculum, sporting outlet for the youth, rich cultural tradition and ascended personal development program for the more seasoned student. I would sincerelly encourage you to give Bakti Negara a try.

Many people ask me where I received the foundation for my martial arts career, I always answer the same way and without hesitation : "Bakti Negara".

Bagus Alit Dira and his father Gus Aji Keplag, the founders of the "Bakti Negara" system, were true martial arts pioneers. They were doing MMA back when the world had the privilege of being able to train under booth of these wonderful and skillful martial artist. My journey to Black Belt in "Bakti Negara" was not an easy one. It took me six years and world title before I was deemed eligible to wear the coveted rank. The training in "Bakti Negara" opened my eyes to the concept that for a martial art system to be meaningful and
complete, it must look at all aspect of science of fighting: striking, weaponry, grappling, artistic, etc. "Bakti Negara" was the first system that I know of, to do just that. It provided me with a wonderful foundation that has allowed me to grow and mature as a professional martial
artist over the course of the last three decades. My work over the past two decades has taken me to dozens countries in which I have been met many, many thousands of martials artists; all of which may not have been possible without the training I received from Bagus Alit Dira and his extended family. I have had the plessure of teaching thousands of martial artists the world over, from stars like Chuck Norris to elite military and policing organizations - again, I count my early training in "Bakti Negara" to be critical to my success.

The "Bakti Negara" headquarter in Bali is one of the most well - rounded, progressive and holistic martial arts facilities I have encountered. Not only is the physical training varied and rigorous, but I love the fact that the main training areas are outdoors and take full advantage of Bali's unique natural beauty and climate. I think this design adds to spiritual fulfillment in way that few others shools can offerr. The staff is open-minded and the school's intelligenly designed layout even , this make Bali's "Bakti Negara" heasdquarter one of the most wonderful places to experience martial art!.

The acceptance that I received in Ubud, and the subsequent introduction to "Bakti Negara" were very important factors in developing my love of Pencak Silat and I thank you for the trust, help and training given to me.

"Bakti Negara is a complete system incoperating all aspects of Pencak Silat and includes elements of the art and culture of Bali. The clasiccal yet effective movements incorporated in the Jurus and Kembangans, the practical application of self defence options, successful competition techniques, and the employment of traditional weapons make "Bakti Negara" a very special system in my oponion.
