The heavy task that he got from his Guru, concurrently the founders of "Bakti Negara", to formulate various techniques of Pencak Silat that mastered to be the foudation techniques of "BaktiNegara", has not only given him its own wisdom, but also a golden opportunity to learn from them. He together with the other pendekars has helped the founders of "Bakti Negara" to formulate the foundation techniques of "Bakti Negara" and has developeds "Bakti Negara" to be more systematic and introduced "Bakti Negara" to the young generation as a part of Humaniora education.
Gus Alit, as commonly called, the man born on 14 June 1945, being sleepy and sleeping in his father's lap when he attended the formation of "Bakti Negara" in 1955 never expected that would get this relay race stick to carry on task and assume responbility passed down from the founders of "Bakti Negara". He Began to learn martial art when he was a teeneger and as for him, it was a part of socialization and spending his leisure time as the other teenagers did.
His career in Pencak Silat resulted from an accident that accured at the Pencak Silat performance in 1994. At the performance Gus Alit who has still inexperienced an relatively young had to face his causin, I Bagus Made Suenda The well known pendekar and hat lots of pupils, unexpectedly injured his knee and could not longer go on with the performance . This incident resulted in the hospitalization of I Bagus Made Suenda and for sometime he was not able to carry out the training. Consequently I Bagus Made Rai Keplag assigned the tasks to Gus Alit.
During those times he got challenges because he didn't have any experiences in conducting the training. But with a passionate learning spirit, he did the task responsibly. Starting from one place to anoyher, he did day by day, week by week, month by month, it gave lots of experience led him to be a good trainer. Based on his experience in conducting trainings, he noticed some problems , primarily the limited number of trainers because of growing demand in martial art trainings and demand for standardization to support the development of "Bakti Negara". Eventually in 1968, under the intensive supervision of "Bakti Negara" founders and in cooperation with other pendekars, he began his task to formulate the foundation techniques of "Bakti Negara".
As his progress at Pencak Silat, in 1972 he served as a delegation for Bali and took part in drafting the set of rules for Pencak Silat as the macth of Pencak Silat was one the sports included at PON VIII (National Olympic Games) in 1973. He has received an award from PB IPSI (Executive Board of Indonesian Assosiation of Pencak Silat) and Bali provincial goverment for his dedication and his progress as the 1st generation of national trainer and judge/refree in creating outstanding pesilat with nasional and international echievements.
